Re: Rumors, speculation, and other affairs of the heart

Yup, JB, it sure looks like webve crossed the Rubicon. My guess is that Bird
WILL BE returning to Boston. Yippee! .>>Eggy

OK, we got our dose of world politics, Eggy's Maine-based view of the stock market,
Martha Stewart's tips for inn-owners and a whole crock of flawed logic.

Got news for you, dearie. Bird was in Springfield, MA on Friday for Magic's induction
into the Hall of Fame. Why not hop down I-90 to Boston and meet up with Belkin while
you're in the area?

Especially since the Celts announced a sale, the owners (GG&P) addressed interest in
talking to Bird (wouldn't anybody on a Celtic Sale Day?) and it's not unlikely that a
meeting on the Charlotte issue may have been called after the owners and Bird "ran
into" David Stern out at the Hall of Fame on Friday.

Duh.

What I REALLY like is your belief that Gaston ordered Wallace to find the worst
players he could to fill the roster, because he planned to sell the team and wanted
them saddled with Vin "Albatross" Baker and a bunch of nobodies. Yeah, that makes
sense. . .up the price by degrading the product.

Marketing 101? Or are you still stuck in that Finance course? Oh, and Bird was tied
up with Charlotte, a city the NBA doesn't want to lose, so it's not like Gaston got to
give his poison pill to ol' LJB. Nah, he's selling his house after hiring guys to
dump trash on his front lawn.

However, your Yippee is a bit premature, as was your purchase of MCI stock for the
minions. The talks with the Bird group were called off. Maybe, as one "source" says,
the fit's not right, but one thing is for sure

The timing isn't.
