re: Smokin' Blount

From: Peter Delevett <pdelevett@xxxxxxxxx>

Hi - just to poke a thumb in everyone's eye, I thought
I'd point out the numbers being put up by former Celt
Mark Blount, who's now starting at center for Denver:

26 MPG, 7.7 ppg, 3 RPG, 1.3 BPG
3 rebs in 26 minutes a game doesn't sound like it'd help the team all that much. Though, of course, Blount can be an effective shotblocker, and his points so far this season look better than they did when he was with the C's. Let's not get into a Mark Blount lovefest just because he's starting for what will surely be one of the worst teams in the league, and doing pretty well. he also had that good season two years ago, but reverted into a big stiff last year. He can probably be an effective NBA big man -- every other year.

Just to be really insulting, notice that Dan Gadzuric
- whom the Celtics could have drafted had they not
traded away their pick in the Joe Johnson deal - [...]
It's all well and good to say that the C's could have had him, but that assumes that Gaston would have paid that rookie scale contract, which he most assuredly would not have.
