why Celts, Lakers lost

I think it's talent on the floor. The Lakers badly need a consistent third scorer. Horry does it in the clutch, Fox did very well in the first quarter of game 5, but they can't match the talent of the Kings. I'm not so sold on the talent of the Nets, but Kittles and Jefferson and Harris can shoot, as can Van Horne. We're close to matching that with Rogers and Kenny, and thus we can win with a great defensive effort.

Our future depends on elevating the general offensive level of our team. The trade looks good for now, but this is a best case scenario. Philly was down, Detroit was overachieving. We need a consistent shooter to put Williams on the bench and we need a big-time rebounder to relieve Antoine and Battie and for crunch time defensive boards. I'm encouraged that we're moving in that direction with Rogers (hopefully) and perhaps Kedrick. Still, I hope we add one quality player in the off-season. Cheers. Gene
