I have a better idea. Why not simply hire a consortium of the leading "Dump
Obie" posters from this board? Each lucky poster selected either by a
lottery or by pulling straws would then choose their own 6 - 8 favorite games
over the course of the season they wished to accept responsibility for.
They'd have free reign to design and implement their own unique defensive
strategies and offensive play sets. Are you in?

Might even be a watershed moment in the history of the NBA. Other owners
might then see for themselves they don't need to pay $7M/year to a guy like
George Karl or $6M/year as well as give up a piece of the team to a guy like
Pat Riley; both of whom have fewer W's than Obie. As does HOF'er Lenny
Wilkens and the Golden Child, Doc Rivers. Like Al Davis says, "Just win,
baby. Just win."

I've also read with amusement the recent posts that suggest "Why not Van
Gundy?" I would say to those who thought last night's game against Miami was
not watchable, think what Van Gundy would, or should I say wouldn't, do with
this club. Think 'NY Knicks basketball'. I'd personally rather watch paint
dry than watch that style of hoop. If anyone thinks last night's game against
Miami was bad, have you given any thought to how you'll feel about the
prospect of JVG on the bench for 82 games employing the personification of
butt ugly basketball? What's that old adage about being careful what you wish
for?
