I don't parrot anyone, especially the media (If you missed my rants, I
don't think much of the media). As for Kidd, we either watched a different
game or, more likely, we see the game differently. Kidd made the right play
every time, at the right time, whether it be a pass, a shot, a drvie to the
hoop, a push on the fast break, a rebound. He WILLED his team to stay in
the game with the Celtics. Sure, he may not be as good defensively as GP,
not as good a scorer and athlete as Francis etc. ad nauseam .But
basketball, to me, is not a series of one-on-one mathcups (even though a
lot of the NBA is that way nowadays), not a dribbling, or shooting, or
leaping competition. Yes, he's lacking in all these categories compared to
the best PGs, but he's a better *basketball player* than all of them. You
plug any of these PGs you mentioned into the Nets' lineup instead of Kidd,
and the Nets would struggle to make the playoffs - not because they don't
have the talent, but because nobody can harness it like Kidd can.

As for Pierce, Shaq, Kobe etc. - yes, they're unbelievably good players,
but they don't RUN their teams (well, maybe Kobe a little bit). Pierce, as
much as I love him, is a pretty poor passer, which he showed again last
night. Whatever, if GP is your idol, you appreciate totally different
things in basketball than I do.
