Antawn Jamison? I don't see that at all.
Drew is much more mobile, a better rebounder, a better passer, a better
ball-handler and a better shooter.
He has much more of a face the basket game than Jamison ever did. In fact,
it was very common for him to break down his defender off the dribble, and
this at 6'10".
If you know anything about Roy Williams coached teams, you would know this is
not the norm for anyone in his system, let alone a big man. Even Paul Pierce
didn't do a lot of one-on-one stuff until his Junior year, even though we all
knew he was more than capable.
The fact that he allowed it from Drew, and even encouraged it speaks to Drews
ability. That is why many teams feel that he could play either forward
position.
If I had to compare games, I'd say he was closer to Kevin Garnett (and
please, don't think I'm comparing the players, I'm simply comparing their
style of game). With his Kansas roots, most people also compare him to Danny
Manning -before the three ACL injuries took away his athleticism.
