I don't recall any other teams that were hot for Johnson last February,
nor any teams that were hot for a late round 2002 pick. So, who do you
think we would have gotten from some other team, rather than Rogers and
Delk? I don't think there were any competing offers I heard about. I
didn't hear any other GM say, "Damn, I wish I could have gotten Joe
Johnson and the 20th pick in the 2002 draft." We got market value, which
included a quick trip to the playoffs and a chance at the conference
title. I'm sure taht not even you believe we would have made it there
with Joe Johnson starting at the 2 guard position.

If you're upset that Gaston didn't sign Rogers, I understand that. I hate
the idea that Gaston wants to run this team as a business, because it
isn't a business, its my basketball rooting interest. That said, there
was no way that Rogers, as a 6'7" back up center, was going to ultimately
take us to the promised
land. Its unlikely that Baker will do it either, but at least its a
possibility.

Please Bob, don't tell us that some other GMs would have offered us more
for any of our assets unless there is some shred of evidence.
