walker gets honor

 	Walker and Webber capture NBA Player of the Week honors

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Bostons Antoine Walker and
Sacramento's Chris Webber were named Eastern and Western Conference
Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, December 9
through Sunday, December 15.
 
Walker averaged 28.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists to lead the
Celtics to a 3-1 record last week.

He collected 28 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals in a
114-109 overtime win over Orlando on December 9. Two days later against
Phoenix, he scored a team-high 31 points, while adding six rebounds and
three assists in a 103-94 loss.

Then, on December 13 against Cleveland, Walker posted his second
triple-double of the season and 13th of his career in a 115-100 win. He
scored a season-high 33 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the game.
The next day, he contributed 23 points, five rebounds, three assists
and two steals in a 113-90 win over the New York Knicks at Madison
Square Garden.

Webber sparked the Kings to a 2-1 record during the week with averages
of 28.3 points and 10.7 rebounds. He scored 30 points while adding 11
rebounds and four assists in a 103-96 loss to Houston on December 10.

The forward chipped in 27 points, including four free throws in the
final seconds, during a 98-96 win over Utah on December 14. He also
added 13 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three steals versus
the Jazz. The next day he scored 28 points and delivered eight rebounds
and seven assists in a 107-92 win over New Orleans.

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week
were Clevelands Ricky Davis, Dallas Michael Finley, Detroits Richard
Hamilton, Indianas Jermaine ONeal, the Los Angeles Clippers Elton
Brand, New Jerseys Richard Jefferson and Jason Kidd, Miamis Eddie
Jones, Phoenixs Shawn Marion and San Antonios Tim Duncan.
