Re: Don't Miss a Golden Opportunity

I thought this was going to be a play on words. As in "Golden" State
Warriors. If Fortson is looking out of Golden State as rumored then
consider this.

Trade E. Williams for Fortson, trade Delk and Philly pick for resigned (At
less then Delk) T.Best in Chicago, resign Strickland/McCarty for Minimum, if
possible.

Don't sign Rogers and stay away from the luxury tax. (Tix holders pay
enough already.) I like Rogers but don't see a way to sign him without
trading off salary somewhere else, so the trade for Fortson instead.
Somewhat similar players with Fortson a better inside guy and Rogers better
outside.

New line up:

PG: Best/Williams/Bremer
SG: Pierce/Strickland
SF: Walker/Brown/McCarty
PF: Fortson/Battie
C: Baker/Sundov

Battie is the first off the bench at C/PF. Brown is first off the bench at
2/3. Strickland/Williams back up 1/2. McCarty backs up 3/4/5. That's 12
guys with skills and some flexibility of position in case of injuries.

True, Best is short, but he is a decent PG with experience that can shoot
some and pass the ball and plays some D.

Fortson stays inside and rebounds/cleans up the misses from the outside on
O, rebounds and uses his body with Baker/Battie on D. Allows Baker/Battie
to slide 8-15' from the basket and pull the other teams 5 away from the
basket or gives two rebounder's under the basket and some bulk to body up
with.

Williams is said to be a shooter from outside and we've seen Strikland play
D, they ease Brown's transition to full time back up at 2/3 and back up Best
and take any pressure off Bremer.

Sundov/McCarty get time as available.

Next year you (can) lose Sundov/Williams/Strickland/McCarty off the cap
which allows ability to add a draft pick/sign a low priced FA/make a trade
and stay under the cap.

The real question is "if" OB will move Walker to the 3 or keep him at the 4
in which case, never mind.... (Though a trade for Best may still be
"worthwhile".)
