I imagine Boston will need to already be a 45+ win team for Duncan to
consider joining our club, once Dave Robinson retires and the Spurs
decline. I'm day dreaming big time here, but if Boston can successfully
develop great wing players in Paul, Joe, Joe, Kedrick and Antoine, we'd
almost resemble Red Auerbach's Celts team just prior to the Bill Russell
draft (with Ramsey, Cousy, Sharmin etc.)

All I can say is; "don't squeeze the Sharman, " Joe. LOL. On the other
hand, Bird's penchant for warm weather cities, not withstanding, there are
two other things that will impact on Duncan's destination.
  1. A team that, with his addition, has a chance to take a title.
  2. A team that can afford him, under the cap and has significant talent,
for a sign and trade. (presuming, he doesn't want to completely screw San
Antonio and will let them get back whatever talent for him, that they can)
Will Boston be in a position to vie for him? It's all about if we can
"successfully
develop great wing players in Paul, Joe, Joe, Kedrick and Antoine." One or
two of them would have to be sent to S.A., without weakening the C's too
much.
As for being similar to the Celtics of 1957, where's our point guard? You
can't fly (I don't care how many wings you have) without a guidance system.
As unique as Russell was, so was Cousy.
