The Beat The Crappy Teams 2001 World Tour Continues

We are the Champions of Mediocrity my friends and we'll keep on being
mediocre
till Gaston's end......

- Only 16 three-point attempts by Antoine. His wrists must be locking
up.

- C's have only beaten one good team this season, and that was a Pacers
club
with an injured Jamal Tinsley. Beat NJ and I'll be somewhat less
skeptical.

- The Celtics should offer Pierce for Gasol in the offseason. That might
be
enough to tempt Memphis. They'd laugh if you offered Walker for Gasol.
Such is the incredible value of a 7-foot big man who can score, rebound,
block
shots, pass, run the court, and is fundamentally sound.

- Celtics must find a legitimate pure point guard in the offseason.
And the upcoming draft presents the perfect opportunity for them to do
so.
That is, if they still have their pick.

- Orlando deserves credit for dealing Bo and putting themselves in
position in the
future to acquire an impact center. Even if they don't get Duncan,
they're in good
shape via available cap space, talent, and location to snag a quality
Big Man.
Whereas the Celtics are in a more difficult situation. By not playing
the rookies
and developing them, continuing to be borderline mediocre and not making
the
playoffs, and being a cold weather team, the C's aren't attractive to
quality free agents,
now or in the future. And toss in an owner vehemently against impinging
anywhere
near the luxury tax, and it's a bad gratis situation.

- So Gaston wants the Celtics hard-charging toward the playoffs this
season.
You wonder if they'll do a move for a veteran front-courter and what
they'll
have to give up for him?
