I thought today was the day for the FINAL list. Perhaps it's midnight tonight. TSN has published it's FINAL draft prognosis though, so perhaps you are right. Now who were those "League Sources that Cofman, who usualy is very conservative, was listening to?
"According to league sources, highly regarded prep star DeJuan Wagner of
Camden, N.J., was also set to waive a college career at Memphis and enter the draft, though no official word had been given"
Speaking to Joe's cogent comments on the crap shoot of drafting high school players, i agree completely, but it is the only way to get the GREAT talent these days. My own bias is to trade the picks, as the fanfare for these kids goes up to near frenzy on draft night.
You try to make comparisons to Wagner with Chris Jackson. No doubt, he was heralded, but I don't remember quite the endorsements that this kid was getting. Remember Calvin Murphy? didn't he play for Niagra? That's the type of player I think of. Able to get his shot off against anyone.
The only underclassman I've seen play was Kwame Brown and he is a pantload. With Walker not going anywhere, what do we do with another power forward? Kwame is not and does not want to be a center. With Loren Woods  or Haywood or Gasol available later, I'd rather go with Wagner if he were coming out, than Curry or Diop, just on the scouts opinion that his game is ready and the others were two years away from maybe contributing.
