The Way I see it

Hello all,

How are you all? [waits for the response] well thats good...

This is the way I see it;

I see it like this

Starting Lineup

C - dont have one. Need a REBOUNDER who can also score. With Battie
playing PF,
shotblocking isn't quite as necessary as hardcore rebounding, though if
we could
get a shot blocker it would be nice.

PF - Tony Battie - I can live with his production from his stat line
this year
so long as he cuts the fouls down. He'll score a lot more also as he'll
get a
lot of open looks with the power forward often doubling Walker.

SF - Antoine Walker - he can play this position at least as well as he
can play
power forward. If hes going to shoot threes all the time then at least
we'll
have two rebounders on the floor instead of one. When he posts up and
creates
the double team, Battie and whoever is at center will get open shots.
Battie's a
high percentage scorer, great for this tactic.

SG - Paul Pierce - needs to lift weights this off-season and get into
"Vince-shape". I think he will and it will improve his game immensely.

PG - dont have one. We need a primary ball carrier who can play strong
man-to-man defense and can anticipate what the opposition is going to
do. Needs
to be "everywhere" at once. A taller version of Brevin Knight would be
ideal so
long as he came with a decent outside shot.

Bench

C - Vitaly Potapenko - a solid center off the bench. I dont see any
point in
trading him, except of course if we were to get a starting PG or C for
him and I
dont see how that is possible, unless some team like New York gets
really silly.

PF - need one. Moiso wont be ready for 2 years at least. This preferably
would
be either a young player with NBA experience or a solid veteran ala
Charles
Oakley, but obviously we wouldn't get someone as good. I'd love to get
my hands
on a player like Michael Smith (Washington Wizards) also.

SF - Eric Williams - I dont know if Eric is more suited for an end of
the bench
role or not, but his effort is always there and he has the ability. Is
he part
of our bench problem though? In my opinion he is. Even though he always
gives
100% ever since his knee injury hes been a mediocre at best player who
has had
some great games, but not often enough.

SG - Bryant Stith - this team *must* in my opinion keep this guy. This
guy is a
real influence on this team. When Bryant plays well, we profit as a
team. I
envision him as a sixth man of the year type.

PG - Randy Brown - veteran role player who will definitely help with a
rookie
point guard.

The others I'd also keep on board are Milt Palacio (as a third point
guard), I'd
allow Moiso time to learn, Mark Blount makes for a good third center
option.

I'd be looking at the following free agents;

Veteran PF - Michael Smith (WAS)
Young C/PF - Jelani McCoy (SEA), Nazr Mohammed (ATL - has really
impressed me -
played Shaq very well in one of his final games with Philadelphia which
I saw
live), Marc Jackson (probable R.o.t.Y; we wont get him, but hes a good
player)
Calvin Booth (DAL)

Scoring swingman - I'd really love Eddie Robinson (CHA) or Stephen
Jackson (NJ)
to join our team... Aaron McKie (PHI) is also a free agent, but he wont
leave
Philly...

Point Guards - Shamond Williams (SEA), Tyronn Lue (LAL), Jeff McInnis
(LAC),
Erick Strickland (VAN), Alvin Williams (TOR), Anthony Carter (MIA) are
all
decent point guard free agents, but I dont think any of them are
difference
makers on this team. If I could sign one of them it would be Erick
Strickland or
Shammond Williams.

Other players we have

Non-free agent: Kenny Anderson - trade him for a future 2nd round draft
pick in
the year 3079 if possible, but I highly doubt it. I dont want him on our
team
next year one way or the other.

Free Agents: Chris Carr (nice shooter, will find PT somewhere), Chris
Herren
(his shooting really let him down again, he'll be in the CBA
unfortunately;
really hoped he'd pan out), Adrian Griffin (I wish AG would become the
old AG,
but I doubt it; I'd go out and sign Eddie Robinson and Stephen Jackson
before
I'd sign Yo Adrian).
