Interesting. It could be Joe Johnson's initial gut reaction to seeing
Kedrick Brown and Joe Forte getting drafted after them.

I truly believed this morning's newspaper headlines would read something
like "Celtics Draft
Three More Paul Pierce Back Ups". So this is kind of my worst fear, actually.

Maybe our Celtics will start to resemble the Redsox clubhouse this year,
with a roster too deep at certain positions. Already Stith, Carr and
Griffin see management's "dis" of them written on the wall, and Eric
Williams and Walter McCarty better get used to fulltime towel waving.

Already, we can look forward to some very heated and aggressive practice
scrimmages among the veterans and kids, but that's not so bad a thing. You
want these guys to be competitors. I hope it sorts itself out.

The whole point, in fact, is to get the best talent and let the roster sort
itself out. For all we know, one or two of these guys will develop so
quickly that we'll even be able to trade Pierce for a big man or top
lottery pick next year without missing a beat.
