I'm hoping Kestas is right and this is bogus. I like Palacio, but this is
just too much money. There's no way there was a market out there for this
guy at $3.5 mil per year, regardless of the length of the deal. It feels
like the McCarty contract. You can talk about it "only" being two years, but
the way Wallace keeps talking about the budget over the next two years, it
would seem to even further hinder any roster movement. If true, the Celtics
have $13 million tied up in three point guards and none of them are
starter-quality. We'll see.

As for the game last night... thanks Kevin for posting all those summaries.
The Joe Johnson and Kedrick Brown stuff is encouraging, although we should
all consider the numbers being posted by other rookies/unknowns in these
summer leagues when judging these guys. I don't know what to make of Moiso.
The papers this morning sounded cautiously optimistic, but the eyewitness
accounts seem largely discouraging. The one thing I'd hope to see from him
in this setting is confidence and aggressiveness, but if he doesn't have it
in a summer league where he should be one of the best players on the floor,
then he's never going to have it when the games count.

The most encouraging stat for me from last night's game was the 18 combined
rebounds from Kedrick Brown and Joe Johnson. This team is going to need
contributions from these guys on the boards to have any hope. Something like
8-10 boards a game between them would be huge.

Now, throwing caution aside for a moment, does anyone else just have a
feeling about Kedrick Brown? I do. Can't wait to watch the game tonight.

Did anyone else notice the Knicks' summer roster includes Wayne Turner, Doug
Overton and Rick Brunson? What, Damon Jones wasn't available?

Celtics agree to terms with Palacio 
Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics have agreed to terms
with point guard Milt Palacio on a two-year contract worth $7 million.

Palacio, who was a restricted free agent, originally signed with the
Celtics on December 6 of last season and played in 58 games for
Boston, averaging 5.9 points and 2.6 assists in 19.7 minutes. He also
had an incredible buzzer- beating game-winner for Boston against the
New Jersey Nets on December 28. 

Palacio played 53 games for the Vancouver Grizzlies during the
1999-2000 season, averaging just 2.0 points in 7.4 minutes.
