Ainge?

You know, I'm really wondering whether Ainge really brings anything to the
table other
than his rings. He's never been a GM before. His tenure as coach in
Phoenix is best
remembered for getting a towel thrown in his face. And he's pretty young.
I like the idea
of re-Celtifying the organization, but I'd rather see McHale in this top
spot. I wonder if there are any feelers to him. Of course, this is also
bad news in that it suggests that Larry's
bid to buy the team has fallen through. McDonough, ever the mouthpiece of
the organization, indicated in his column that Larry's supposed
"billionaire" in fact couldn't get the money together to buy the team. I
knew it was too good to be true.

But before we entrust the future of the organization to another guy who has
never been a GM in his life, maybe we should see what Donnie Walsh is doing
these days, or Mr. Bill Russell for that matter. (His GM record in
Sacramento is still unappreciated I feel.) Or how about somebody else? What
has Danny done to deserve our trust, other than ask for the job?
