Re: ughh!

I followed the game on weei. first qtr we shot 60% FG, but Mavs' like 50+%. I
thought we would lose this game, as our hot shooting could not possibly continue
(Antione canned his first 2 shots of the game and they were 3s!!), and we were not
playing defense enough. sure enough it happened, we later trail by double digits
most of the time.

We had Finley on 4 fouls and Nowiztki on 5, going into the last qtr. I thought OB
would want more drives and slashes into the paint to foul out these 2 guys, but
Antione took some ill-advised 3 pointers. Herren too launch some 3s when he first
came into the game (I don't understand it as Palacio was giving results against
the Mavs' backcourt players)

I think Potapenko was very good. He tough it out in the paint, getting several
good caroms. He understands his role and plays within his strengths under OB.

Antione was a dissapointment. What is he thinking shooting so much 3s (or even
jumpshots)? Mavs got no one strong or quick enough on the inside able to handle
him. why didn't he go inside more? The refs were calling the game and he could
have use it to his advantage. He was 0-0 from the FT, I believe.
I think OB should tell him (is he listening?) to launch 3s only AFTER he got his 6
rebounds, 5 assists and when the C's are up 15points, period.

Palacio is getting to be a good fit. He hit a 3 pointer and he seemed to be able
to breakdown the Mavs defense with his penetration and vision. I saw him on tv in
the Suns win and I thought he got DJ-esque in him - good ball handler, plays
tought defense, good basketball iq, will can the open shot when needed to (when
shot clock is up) and is not flashy. If he keeps this up and Kenny is still here
next season, I think Herren will be gone.

Herren is a question mark to me. He came into the game launching some quick shots
and 3s. But later in the game (he stayed instead of Palacio), he drove inside
more, fearlessly, which is what I like about him. If possible at all, trade Kenny
and stick with Herren/Palacio/Brown.

Blount? What happened? He was getting good looks and knocking them down but was
pulled out in favour of V. Just got 13 mins but I thought OB could have use a
Pierce/V/Blount combo, sitting Antione, at times. May be OB wanted V to draw
Bradley out of the paint with his outside jumpshot ability.

Stith went down at the end of the game and Maxwell went into the lockeroom to
check. Came back to say it was just a muscle spasm, nothing structural.

I really thought we could have won this game with more inside the paint
moves/drives. I think we shoot too much jump shots for the past 3 losses.
