Good one, Alex! Actually, that could be the first wisecrack I've ever seen
from you. ;-)

I think Jamey made some good points though! But the part about not watching
games regularly applies best to me. I base too much on watching CNN
highlights and poring over Internet boxscores.

Some important things don't show up on boxscores (like why the boxscore
ugly DeClerq clearly deserved to start over Travis Knight, or possibly even
why Milt could earn more PT next season than a healthy Kenny). But I'm a
big believer in stats (especially non-scoring)....maybe more than anyone on
this list. I don't honestly think I do this just to compensate for being so
out of touch from all the action, living for years in France.

I've always seen the difference between a Bird and a
Wedman/Tripucka/TomChambers in so far how it affects winning basketball
(well yeah, that'd be obvious to any moron). But okay let's say the
difference between a Walker and a Mercer (huge in my opinion). Or a Joe
Johnson (Penny/Pippen type) versus a Rodney White (wannabe Glen Rice type).
That would just be my preference, as far as how to choose a Celtics-type,
winning team basketball player.

Anyhow, good "points" on the lively point guard debate.

Cheers,

Joe
