Celtics Acquire McLeod, Draft Choice
Boston trades Moiso to Philadelphia
BOSTON (Aug. 3, 2001) - The Boston Celtics announced today that they have
acquired forward Roshown McLeod and a future first round draft choice from
the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for forward Jerome Moiso.

McLeod, a 6-8, 230-pound forward, averaged 9.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per
game in 36 games for the Sixers and the Atlanta Hawks last season. He was
acquired along with Dikembe Mutombo from Atlanta on February 22, 2001 in a
deal that sent Toni Kukoc, Nazr Mohammed, Pepe Sanchez and Theo Ratliff to
the Hawks.

Originally selected by the Hawks in the first round of the 1998 NBA Draft
(20th overall), McLeod posted 4.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game during
his rookie season in Atlanta. In the 1999-2000 season, he averaged 7.2
points and 3.1 rebounds in 44 games for the Hawks.

McLeod began his college career at St. John's University, where he played
for two seasons before transferring to Duke in 1996. As a Blue Devil, he
averaged a team-high 15.3 points per game and earned honorable mention
All-American status as a senior in 1998.

The Celtics selected Moiso in the first round (11th overall) of the 2000 NBA
Draft. Last season, he averaged 1.5 points and 1.8 rebounds over 24 games.
The 6-10 forward played two seasons at UCLA, averaging 12.0 points per game,
before being selected by Boston on June 28, 2000.
