Celtics News: Howard David Abandons Ship - May Says Gaston and Bird Talking

Howard David won't be calling the Celtics games next season,
when they make the switch to 1510 - The Zone. David, who says
it's time to move on, has one year left on his contract, but with
WEEI, which lost the Celtics radio rights to the rinky-dinky radio
station with the bad signal at the end of the dial. So will Max
be the next to go? Could be. Too bad, as David and
Max were a nice alternative to the pispoor dreadfull Heinsohn
and Gorman. Way to go Richard Pond....

Peter May in tomorrow's Globe will tell you that Gaston is in
negotiations with a group featuring Larry Bird that wants to
buy the Celtics. BSG would tell you that May has no sources
in the Celtics front office and just brings up Bird's name,
as a favor to his pal Larry. We will see who is more accurate....

May also endorses the return of Jim O'Brien.

Will McDonough says Celtics attendance is down 10 percent and they've lost
$3
million dollars in revenue.
