Pierce may be ready for opening night, says BSG:

One last note: from all accounts, the Pierce saga has been nothing short
of a miracle. As astounding as this sounds, the Celtics actually expect
Double P to be ready for Opening Night if all the wounds heal properly
without infection. The story going around is that somebody from the
Pierce/Battie group inadvertently hit on a girlfriend of someone
involved with Made Men and the boyfriend was led to believe that Pierce
was "responsible" for moving in on his bee-atch. Hence, the retaliation.
As I wrote on Monday, whenever something like this happens, females
always seem to be involved. Always. ALWAYS.

(It's like Ed Norton said in Rounders -- "In the poker game of life,
women are the rake. They are the f*****g rake.")

Jerome Moiso was signed today by the Celtics. Terms of
the contract unrevealed as usual.

Rik Smits announced his retirement.
