Re: Celtic Notes Part I - 9/19

You mean someone else is paying attention?

Nothing really new here, but...

Chris Herren will be a good move, provided the cost is only Pack and
Cheaney. Pack is fool's gold. Would a healthy Robert Pack help this team?
Yes, but we all know he'll never stay healthy. Herren has a chance to be
good.

As long as whoever buys the Celtics commits to spending money--big
money--I'm all for it. The balance of power is with the Paul Allens, Mickey
Arisons, Mark Cubans and MSGs. The Celtics can't compete if they don't
spend. Can Bird run the team? Who knows?

Pitino to IU... This still sounds like a long shot. A Kentucky guy coaching
the Hoosiers? Do you realize the animosity built up between these programs?
And Pitino-ball is the absolute antithesis of Hoosier-ball. No, if IU is
smart, they'll offer the moon and the stars to Rick Majerus, one of the five
best coaches in the world and seemingly a perfect fit in Indiana. My money
still is on Pitino ending up at UCLA, with Michigan an outside possibility
and St. John's a long shot if Mike Jarvis heads to the NBA.
