RE: BSG: Pitino Gone By Christmas

You know, this rock-bottom stuff may be getting a bit out of hand.
I was as discouraged as anybody (well, mostly anybody) by these
back to back blowouts. But if we win a couple of games against
Houston and Vancouver we're back at .500 and talking upbeat
again. Unfortunately, teams are never totally bad or totally good in
the NBA, and I tend to doubt these guys are consciously girding
themselves for 70-odd games of abuse, defeat, and embarassment.
We'll see a few more very bad games. We may not even make the
playoffs. But you won't see games like Monday night's very often,
any more than you will see the Celts blowing anybody out very often.
I will throttle back on my optimism, but it's too early to quit on any team
at this point.
