Bskball: Lottery Outcome Creates Trades

Will the C's try to move up?

05/22-THIS DRAFT CREATES SOME DEALING- No one within the Nets thought
they'd win the lottery and land the top pick, now that they have
it....what do they do with it?..The smart choice would be use it and
grab Kenyon Martin and give yourself a serious 4 man game, another
option is deal that pick down for maybe 2 1st rounders (Orlando and
Chicago could be players there), or deal it out right for a serious
veteran. With Miami, basically looking to re-tool according to reports,
it possible Riley wants to make a deal (Would you take Kerry Kittles and
the #1 for PJ Brown and Jamal Mashburn?- I wouldn't), so its clear a day
after that there is maneuvering to be done.... Down the line a few teams
hoped for more, and got a lot less and just proves, the lottery is
fixed?...no I am kidding, it proves that anything can happen, and that's
why you send 13 teams to find out who gets those 3 picks... The Bulls
were not shocked to have fallen, but a Bulls source said this changes a
lot of thinking, but they still believe Mihm could still be there at 4,
and if so they'd just have to pay him less. A Magic source said in an
upbeat tone, at least we'll have more caproom after not taking the 1st
overall pick, the same source said he'd be shocked if the Magic stay
where they are. The Clippers appear willing to talk about dealing their
#3 pick all together, and I hear Toronto called them late yesterday to
see if they had interest in Oakley for the pick straight up. The
Grizzlies staff seemed surprised that they went to #2, and initially
before the lotto said they were keeping the pick, today the tune
changed, and it was said with so many teams dropping, a better deal
might be had, and they were going to listen to offers. So right there in
the top 5 you see things might change, and with some of the later teams
really needing help, and some of the upper teams really needing
veterans, I am expecting a few draft day deals that may surprise even
me....... I wonder what George Karl would really want for the #15 pick,
he was talking about yesterday... In this draft class that might be a
serviceable player.
