Two other points:

First, Pitino went for a mini project instead of the sure think
(Alexander).  That means RP is planning to stick around for awhile.

Secondly, I did see him play against Stanford, and he completely dominated
the frontline that was supposed to be the best in the nation.  He didn't
play that game soft, but repeatedly abused the taller Stanford players.
There were no fadeaway jumpers and he finished every play strong.

I'm guessing that Rick thinks Jerome will be a big-time player if he gets
the right motivation, and Pitino is proud of his motivational skills.

Like most of the list, I was praying for Alexander, but I 'm still a
Celtics fan and I hope Rick Pitino turns out to be smarter than us.
