Mavs looking at Celts pick, others

Bskball is reporting the Mavericks have had talks with the Celtics about the 11th pick and the Bucks aboiut the 15th.

 

If we were to trade with them, who would we get?  There's no one that comes to mind that Dallas would trade, unless they were stupid and gave us Nowitzki or Finley.

 

It would have to include another 1st rounder right?  A team can't trade their first round pick away consecutive years, or atleast that's what I thought.

There has been talk of offers made to Boston for the #11 pick and the Milwaukee Bucks for the #15. Its not clear who the Mavs are dangling, but it is very clear who the Mavs covet- Jerome Moiso and Keyon Dooling. Mark Cuban told HOOPSWORLDS that "(we're) talking to everyone. But 99% of things don't happen". The Mavs have been reported to have renewed talks about moving Robert "Ice" Pack. Pack is a very good player when healthy, but his number of missed games outweighs his number of played games, and with the Mavs looking at Dooling, Pack's roster spot is basically gone. There is talk of a 5 player swap with Dallas and Denver, in which Robert Pack, Hot Rod Williams, and Sean Rooks would head to the Nuggets in exchange the Nuggets would send Chris Gatling, and Popeye Jones back to Dallas. Its unclear why Denver would entertain such a horrible deal for them, although I personally place a lot of value in Sean Rooks, but virtually none in Williams or Pack due to age and injury respectively.
