SportsTalk.com on the Best/Worst of pre-Draft Camp

In case you're wondering who this Vassil Evtimov is? I think they're
talking
about Vasco Evtimov who was known as the "Bulgarian Larry Bird", and
played
at North Carolina for a year or so before running afoul of the NCAA.
He then went back to Europe to play professionally. He's sure to be
drafted and may make it into the first round.

And Toine was spotted at the camp. No doubt showing off his new lean
mean
basketball machine physique.

DAY THREE EARLY RESULTS

Chris Porter, pre-season All Everything, had a good morning with 13
points on 5-9 shooting and 8 rebounds but scouts continue to mumble over
his lack of size. And now, after two missed dunks and lapses on
defenses, they are saying that his game needs refinement.

Other top performers include, Justin Love (19 points on 8-10 shooting),
Bootsie Thorton (19 points on 9-14 shooting) and Pepe Sanchez (9
assists).

Vassil Evtimov, 8 boards
Lavor Postell, 7 boards
Lamont Barnes, 7 boards

ASSISTS
Pepe Sanchez, 8 assists

Speedy Claxton, 7 assists
Doc Robinson, 6 assists
Aubrey Reese, 6 assists

THE GAME BALL GOES TO
Mark Madsen, 18 points on 5-5 shooting, 9 boards, 8-9 from the FT line
Madsen's game is all about hustle and intensity. No one at the camp
plays harder. Today he showed some range with his mid jumper but most of
his points were fought for inside. If he made free-throws like this
every night, he'd be a first round steal

TOUGH NIGHT
Khalid El-Amin, 2-8 from the field
Shaheen Holloway, 0-5 from the field
Reed Rawlings, 2-8 fromt the field
Johnny Hemsley, 2-8 from the field
Harold Arceneaux, 2-8 from the field
Schea Cotton, 2-8 from the field

DAY ONE RESULTS
SCORING
Dan Langhi, 17 points on 5-10 shooting
Donnell Harvey, 16 points on 5-9 shooting
Jimmy 'Snaps' Hunter, 16 points on 6-13 shooting
Lavor Postell, 16 points on 6-8 shooting
Johnny Hemsley, 14 points on 6-9 shooting
Bootsie Thorton, 14 points on 5-12 shooting

REBOUNDING
Donnell Harvey, 10 boards
Ron Hale, 10 boards
Vassil Evtimov, 8 boards
Primoz Brezec, 7 boards

ASSISTS
Shaheen Holloway, 9 assists
Eddie Gill, 8 assists
Igor Rakocevic, 7 assists
Pepe Sanchez, 6 assists
Ed Cota, 6 assists
Matt Santangelo, 6 assists

THE GAME BALL GOES TO
Lavor Postell, 6-8 from the field, 5 boards, 1 assist.
Postell has played well in all 3 of the pre-draft camps and has helped
his stock considerably. Donnell Harvey put up better numbers but he was
slow getting back on defense and showed no attitude or hustle which will
raise big question marks.

TOUGH NIGHT
Harold Arceneaux, 2-10 from the field
Eddie House, 2-10 from the field
Jameel Watkinsk, 0-3 from the field, 2 boards, 0 assists
Jamal Crawford, 1-9 from the field
Reed Rawlings, 1-7 from the field
