    Didn't Pitino already confirm that Mercer will not be signing with Boston?
I believe Pitino said recently that it was not a recruiting visit but rather a
fatherly "go find happiness and a home" pep talk. Whatever.

    I'm fairly sure Mercer will get a decent offer from Jerry Krause before it
reaches the stage that he'll be left picking from among the 2.25 million
offers. Mercer could help the Bulls. Tariq seems to be another one of those
guys (along with Bimbo and Moiso) who only Boston seems to have expressed much
interest in. But he says he won't sign for the 2.25 million slot.

    So we may be left with trying to trade Fortson and sticking with our
roster, or trading Walker/Pierce in a blockbuster.
