Peter May does it again

Just read Peter May's column in the Globe today. It amazes me how
much he can write about a topic with no real supporting evidence.
If the Celtics were really interested in trading Walker for Croshere,
wouldn't they have contacted Indiana about it? How come Indiana's GM
says that no one has contacted him about a sign and trade then?
May's whole column is based on the faulty logic that "Croshere would
be nutty to take $2M, therefore the Celtics must be offering Walker."
Doesn't quite make sense, does it?

The truth is that Croshere is probably being pursued with the $2M
exception by many teams, because they can possibly offer a better
playing role than Indiana to compensate him for lost salary. As to
those, like May, who think it can't happen - what about Shandon
Anderson? Also, Indiana is probably not willing to offer him a huge
contract because he's probably going to be playing behind Dale Davis
and Jalen Rose at the forward spots for the majority of his contract.
Croshere probably wants a situation where he can start and play 30
minutes. And Pitino has stated that he is not looking to sign and
trade for Croshere but rather get him on the open market.
