Yelling coach

I agree that Pitino likely yells too much to be as effective as we all would like; perhaps some of our players on occasion tune him out as a result.

One way a number of people have described this problem is that Pitino treats men as little boys to be bossed around.

Again, I am not a huge fan of the efficacy of constant yelling, but this coddling of these supposed "men" is ridiculous.

All the players are two things: 1) basketball players and 2) employees.

Great basketball players try their best to win regardless of the situation and without making too many excuses. Players cannot win without following the lead of their coaches. Players who cannot adapt to their coaches will not be great players. Yes, the coach needs to step up and improve, but this is a two-way street. Not going to try hard because the coach yelling is hurting your feelings? You will never be a great player.

Grown-up men understand that as employees you have to put up with some personality traits in your boss you don't like. That's called the real world. That's called maturity. That's called being a man. If you are going to whine because the coach treats you like a boy, then you are only proving you are one. Rise above.
