I imagine it more as an act.  "OK, Michael, I'm going to really rip into 
Antoine today.  I'll call him every name in the book.  You be ready with 
your defense tomorrow.  Just make sure we stroke the fans by calling them 
intelligent, or something, and we'll sell a ton of papers.  Maybe someday 
one of us will get a job at SI or something instead of this nickel and dime 
sporting news gig I got."
