Rambling

I watched last night's Hawks game, and came away with some surprising
images. Most importantly, the Boston fans were really into the game, much
more so than fans of other teams that are out of the playoffs. They were
hooting, hollering, and cheering every play, especially during the final
11-0 blitz. We certainly deserve better.

I'm ashamed to admit that I was kind of hoping for a well played loss.
All the Cs can do now is hurt their draft position, and with other teams
(New Jersey) tanking, a win might cost us a player like Marcus Fizer (ESPN
radio was opining that he would go in the 6-10 area of the draft). The
draft lottery was supposed to end "tanking", but it has clearly not been
successful. I wish that the draft would go back to a true lottery, where
every team that doesn't make the playoff has an equal chance at the top
player.

The guy who does the NBA Insider was asked about Pitino, and he surprised
me by saying that the Celtics were better than people thought and were
only a big man away from being very competitive. He then added that no
one is giving big men away.
