Hey Celt,

The Boston Celtics will clash with Dikembe Mutombo and the Atlanta Hawks tonight at 7 p.m. at the FleetCenter.  Mutombo leads the NBA in rebounding at 14.2 per game, and ranks second in the league in blocked shots, averaging 3.35 per game. 

"If you let this team dominate you on the glass, you can't win,” said Celtics Coach Rick Pitino.

Atlanta has struggled through a difficult season thus far.  Their record stands at 26-50, placing them in 7th place in the Atlantic Division, and 14th in the Conference.

Boston will be trying to match their franchise record for wins at the FleetCenter.  Their current home record of 22-14 leaves them two games shy of the 24 wins the 1997-98 squad won on the parquet floor.

The Celtics have fared well against the Hawks this season.  The C’s lost the first meeting in Atlanta 94-84 back on November 27th, but have won the last two.  Boston took a 98-91 decision behind 24 points from Antoine Walker on December 22nd at the FleetCenter.  The Celtics also got the “W” at the new Philips Arena last month on March 27th.   Walker poured in 30 to lead the C’s to the 114-90 victory. 

Tonight’s game also marks the Boston stop for the USFans Tour.  USFans tours the country to find the “basketball fan of the year.”  The Grand Prize winner will receive a trip to the 2001 NBA Finals.  Stop by the USFans caravan in front of the FleetCenter for prize info.
