McDonough: Celtics Success Dependent On Kenny Anderson's Good Play

But the C's are playing a half court game and Kenny excels in
transition....

Patriots willing to pay the price for
                                success

Bob Cousy, Tom Heinsohn, and Walter
McCarty, all taking part in the same
interview session, seemed to agree that
the Celtics' rise or fall this season will
be in the hands of point guard Kenny
Anderson. ''Anderson has to do a better
job of spreading the ball around, but it
has been difficult for him to do because
he is a better player in transition than
in the halfcourt game, and the Celtics are
playing the halfcourt game,'' said Cousy.
Said Heinsohn, ''The first five or six
games Kenny was here, he looked like the
answer. He made everyone around him
better. But that didn't happen last year.
He is capable of leading the offense, and
if he plays the way he can, the Celtics
                                will be a lot better.''
