More On Bulpett's Grades

Here's the full text of Bulpett's critique of Bowen:

The story on the court is that the coaches were unhappy that Bowen
didn't return this
season with an improved outside shot after being told it was his No. 1
improvement
priority in the summer. The story away from the floor is that the staff
is well
aware Bowen spent a lot of time in the visitor's dressing room at the
Fleet
Center and that he has not exactly been singing the team's praises when
speaking
to out-of-towners. Acoording to one source, 'He had a lot of bad things
to say
about Pat Riley and Miami when he got to Boston. That should have been
the
first hint.' It'd be a major upset if he were back next season."

Mercer

Bulpett gave him a B-minus and said he'd be invaluable if the C's ever
get
into "a consistent up-tempo offense..." Also, it's hard to find another
big guard who shoots as well on the move, but he does have flaws.

Walker

Bulpett gave him a C-plus and said he would keep him and try to smooth
out the
rough edges, but also that his forced shots didn't help the team.
Bulpett
notes that Walker said he's going to do the extra work to prevent a
relapse
of this season....

My thoughts...

Shawn Bradley - He averaged 8 boards and 3 blocks in about 27 minutes or
so. I think he might be an interesting acquisition, because
a pressing and trapping team needs a dominant shotblocker. Mercer and
cap stuff for Bradley. Mercer, Battie, Barros & lots of cap filler for
Bradley
and Finley. Samaki Walker might be a cheap free agent acquisition.

2nd Round Pick...

Jamal Magloire has declared for the draft. He can block shots and run
the
court; not much offense. A possible C's 2nd round pick if they don't
take Turner.
