Bart Hubbuch's Brief Celtics Review

25. BOSTON CELTICS
* IN REVIEW: Boy-wonder coach Rick Pitino saw his
reputation take a hit as the Celtics, plagued by
immaturity and injuries, struggled through a disastrous
season. Rookie Paul Pierce was a pleasant surprise, but
not enough to prevent yet another lottery trip for this
once-proud franchise. The fans focused much of their
ire on forward Antoine Walker, booed regularly and
loudly at the Fleet Center.
* WHAT'S NEXT: Pitino has several nice pieces in place,
so maybe all the Celtics need is time to come together.
But that maturation process must happen quickly,
because the natives are restless. Another season like
this one and Pitino could find himself out of a job.
