Weekly dose of Peter May pessimism

Get your taste buds ready for the weekly dose of Peter May pessimism. May I 
be the first (or more likely, the millionith) to say the Peter May "stinks". 

<The Celtics already are committed to spending more than $40 million and then 
will have to make decisions on Tony Battie (unless he's traded) and Ron 
Mercer (unless he goes elsewhere). >

Ah, Peter, Mercer also isn't a free agent until next year, like Battie...

<All he does is win. Pat Riley was my original choice, but how can you vote 
for a guy who goes 0-3 against the Celtics? >

Ah, Peter, teams that are in the playoffs have only about 5 more wins than 
the Celtics...

<All-NBA teams. There are obvious choices here, but one criterion I try to 
use is whether the player's numbers mean anything if his team stinks. This is 
known as the Antoine Walker Rule. >

This is kindof like the Peter May Rule. That rule that if you are so 
pessimistic on a team, the home team, you discredit yourself as an arbitrary, 
creditable source...
