Pierce

Steve Bulpett reports after the Knicks game:
Pierce wound up getting 13 minutes, two points and three rebounds. And
while the media was curious about the changing situation, Pierce, too,
had some questions (..) ``I definitely felt like I could have played a
lot more minutes than that. I mean, if I'm going to play, then play. If
I'm not, leave me on the side.''

Geez, what a stat-conscious, selfish brat. Oops, I forgot he's one of
the Celts' list saints...one of our "future All Stars" whose leadership
makes the Celts' leading scorer, rebounder and second best assist man
(Antoine Walker) utterly disposable. Never mind that Pierce is averaging
about 5ppg on well below 40% shooting ever since being named NBA Rookie
of the Month in February (ever since Vince Carter blew his ass out of
the water).

Let's just keep blaming Antoine Walker for all our problems. It shows
how bright we are as basketball fans. :-)

My advice to Paul Pierce would be to shut up and get with the program.
Stop crying whenever Pitino shouts at you, and start showing some fight
again. If you're gonna produce less than 2 points per quarter, then the
coach is gonna sit your ass down. Pierce is not in La La Land anymore,
nor with Dorothy and Toto out in Kansas. I believe he needs to follow
the examples of tough guys Walker and also Vitaly Potapenko, who not
only outscored Patrick Ewing but stayed even with him on the boards (11
each).

I think we should give Antoine Walker due credit for never once in his
career saying a negative word during the regular season against any
coach or any teammate. Walker talks like a leader and captain this year,
and in years past (even as a rookie under the ML Carr regime) he's shown
the common sense to keep his mouth shut during the season and just play
ball. Of course, in the end, he just might be a much more consistent
and well-rounded player than "Mr La La Land" Paul Pierce.
