The Clippers and Lorenzen Wright couldn't get together
on a contract extension before the deadline, so Wright 
will most likely be the latest good player to flee the
Clippers.  If they're smart, they'll try to do some sort
of a sign and trade deal with him, so they receive some
compensation in return.  That's where the Celtics come in.
Kenny Anderson and Toni Battie for Wright; Anderson and a
future first - the possibilities are there.  Wright would
fill the C's need for a big, rebounding power forward or
he could play center, and Kenny -- who has tuned Pitino out 
and doesn't fit into his system -- would be a big improvement
over Darrick Martin....

Draft Status - The C's are tied with the surging Hornets for the 
eighth worst record in the NBA.  As Peter Vecsey notes aboout
Charlotte: How many teams can start two 6-10 and above post up
guys - If they make their free throws, they're "downright dangerous."

Vecsey on Paul Pierce: "An ankle injury and disintegration in priorities
has ruin Paul Pierce's momentum..."

Mitch Lawrence says he's hearing Elton Brand will be the first Dukey to
leave early.  He goes in the top three if he comes out.  A Danny Fortson/
Charles Oakley type with more hip in his hop.  Pitino would love him....
Scouts however, are somewhat down on Steve Francis.  His "disappearing 
act" against St. Johns didn't help his value.
