Re: Talented but painfully young
I don't agree at all. NJ is a hungry, desperate and talented team whose
record is due to a couple of injuries. Toronto sucks. No, Boston
didn't play as well as they did against Orlando or the Knicks, but is
that really so surprising? Some nights things don't click. It doesn't
mean it's complacency. They can't play their best game every night.
And, Dan F., why do you think Antoine was the goat? He hit his two
crutial free throws. I even said to my wife, "He'll hit both of these."
She wasn't as confident, but he did. I was a little more concerned
about Pierce, being a rookie and all, but I never thought he'd miss them
both. As far as DQ goes, even if he had hit them both, Van Horn's shot
would have won the game for them.
Speaking of my wife, she says we should call Pierce "Chewbacca", because
Cousy calls him the "Wookie".

the 2-10 Nets lightly after winning Saturday at NJ. So they perhaps
figure that they have an easy win at home tonight. Instead, they play
down to their level of competition and suffer a surprising loss.
