Re: Odom stays in school?

hi Joe,
I just got an E-Mail that slammed me for being racially insensitive to you when I jokingly wrote that I always thought you were Irish. He also said my bastardizing of the Gaelic Erin Go Bragh to Erin Go Bro was also in very bad taste. I am sure you took my comments for what they were, just friendly banter between two Celtics/Basketball lovers. When I read the list I don't picture posters by color or race and to be honest until you once mentioned being Asian last year in a post it never occurred to me. Naive maybe but I am a 100% disabled vet and was in the military for many years living and working in rather close quarters with men and women of all races, colors and creeds. I learned quickly that no one race is superior and that both heroes and cowards were distributed pretty equally with the majority of us were quivering nicely somewhere in the middle!! I neglected to mention that while my surname KING is a mix of Irish, English, Scotch etc. etc. and i have big blue eyes my mom is Cape Verdean Portuguese which made for some confusing times as a youth!! I look much more like my dads side except for the black hair and heavy beard growth. So unless brought it up or someone saw my mom the issue of me being mulado (Derog term given in New Bedford to persons of mixed races) was not real prevalent. Anyway sorry to impart all this on you but this lurker really hurt my feelings and as he really has no way of knowing how or what I think other than one humorous post I felt the need to make sure no offence was taken as surely none was meant. I enjoy your posts and respect your words. Color or race never enters into my equation on how I value a list member. Well take care Joe. Later.Mike
