Oh boy

Man, Phil Jackson has got to be nuts to get involved in the Soap Opera
Formerly Known as the Lakers. What makes him think Jerry Buss won't be a total
lunatic to deal with? What makes him think he can make any more of a
difference than the merry-go-round of Dump-Nick, Dump-Dell, Sign-Dennis,
Deal-for-Rice, Dump-Dennis, Dump-Rambis made? Is he going to really try to
make a dominant center (which he's never had) play the triangle?? Will he
magically make Kobe pass the ball, or make Fox and Horry hit the J when/if he
does? And if this Rice-and-Horry-for-Pippen deal goes down, how will that
improve things? Pippen pouted all last year about having to share the ball
with Hakeem and Charles. Think Bryant will even dish to him? Think Shaquille
will be content sitting out in the high post a la Cartwright and Longley?
Rodman will probably try to come back now. Unless Buss decides to sign Karl
Malone. And poor Jerry West is sure to bail instead of fighting for control
with Jackson. Sheesh, what a sideshow. It makes me feel a little better about
our own little megalomaniac and his power-crazed delusions. Well, not much better.

(Am I the new Paul M, or what?)
