Re: You Know.....

First thought: I can't believe the Clippers would turn down Mercer
for Wright.

Second thought: The deal would have to involve more than Mercer,
since Wright would have to be signed to a (most likely large) contract,
before being dealt to the C's.

Third thought: Like I've been saying, I'm not convinced that Mercer
is the one going to Dallas. As noted, the Boston media has not
given one iota of coverage to this story. Don Nelson might
want Mercer for Samaki and a first, but that's Nelson's wishes
not Pitno's....

Fourth thought: If the C's did receive a number one, I'm not convinced
it would ever see the light of day in Boston. I wouldn't be shocked if
it was packaged before next February's trading deadline for a quality
player.
With Dallas' pick, the C's choice, Samaki, Battie, a
healthy/rejuvenated?
Kenny Anderson, the C's would have trade material to go out and pull the
type of deal NJ did last season for Marbury, and with David Falk forcing
trades, there may be a few quality people available...

He languished in LA, but everyone sees potential and he looks like he might come at the right price. He looks to be second on the list behind Jermaine O'Neal in Indiana, Boston, who has no cap room has offered Ron Mercer among others, Vancouver would love to get him, but also is out of cap room. The Lakers are a dark horse here. They need another big guy

What if the Samaki Walker trade is the plan B or C? Maybe we are all on the wrong track here. Where did that phony report come from last winter? Maybe the reason none of the boston papers has reported on the Walker deal is that it's not likely to happen unless something else falls through. Why hasn't
