Anstey & Mav madness

Here's what the mavs could have (if they weren't the mavs):

Antoine instead of Montross and Samaki Walker. K. Cato instead of
Anstey. Pierce instead of Nowitzi. Not to mention Jason Kidd. And
people say the Celts front office is mistake prone.

Anyway, Anstey is a 6'11" McCarty. Too lean to be a good rebounder
or banger for his height, too tall to defense quicker small forwards,
and so his very good shot and drives to the bucket don't get him very
far. Like many others, he makes some lovely shots or drives in for an
excellent dunk and you think, "wow, let's get that guy." But I can't
see him getting much pt for the Celts. He's a small forward, behind
Walker and McCarty and Pierce.

The headliner of this deal has to be S. Walker. I think he could do
us some good. Pair him with Battie at pf; let him back up VP.

Another pf possibility: Loren Meyer, who is going nowhere with
Denver. Meyer is 6'10", mobile enough, a good rebounder, a good
jumper. I've liked him since I saw him with ISU in the NCAAs. He
teamed with "the mayor," Fred Hoiberg that year. He's a good, second
team pf.
