Re: Campbell...Mashburn...NOOOOOOOO!
I have to agree with your assessment of Campbell. For 7 million you
would hope your 7 foot center could get more than 8 boards a game
(that's Elden's best year on the glass, when he started 82 games).
I would get rid of Knight, though, if they can either get a center for
him or one via free agency. Even a Michael Stewart type center.
Otherwise they must keep Travis, simply because they need the height.
I've seen enough of him to know he'll never be a decent starter, and I
prefer Andrew's blood and guts enthusiasm as a back-up in the 4 and 5
spots.
So, what do you do with Knight? The Mashburn deal works for me,
assuming a signing like Stewart, especially if Minor is involved. It's
not that I'm particularly fond of Mash, but I like this idea of getting
a bunch of athletic guys from the same very succesful college program.
Especially if they are more inclined to run through walls for their old
coach. I don't think anyone on the list would like to see a deal for
Mash that involved any of the Big Four. I'd be open to other
suggestions, though. Is there any way to turn Knight, Minor and Dontae
into a decent center?
Of course, I'd also like to see Popeye stay on the team. Can anyone
tell me if the Celtics can sign him as a LBE player? I hear it
mentioned a lot that they only have so much cap money to spend on him,
but it seems that shouldn't matter since he came in a trade.

>Campbell's been in the league for what...8 years now? He is what he is:
a talented guy who's found a way to sleep through two out of every three
games while visions of dollar signs dance in his head.
