Re: WEEI Talk Show
There's sports talk on WEEI from 10am to 6pm and at night, when there
are no games being broadcast. The Big Show, which you are asking about
is on from 3-6, but it is a complete waste of time. The time is spent
either making assinine jokes about each other (they have a rotating
regular panel of guests including Bob Ryan and Michael Holley) or trying
to stir up fan reaction to whatever they possibly can. I haven't heard
them, but this Antoine/Kenny spat would be just the sort of thing they
would try to make a big deal out of. Thank God the Red Sox will be
giving them plenty of fodder now that Spring Training has begun. They
tend to go straight from Patriot talk into Red Sox talk, which is just
fine, in my book. The less they say about the Celtics, the better. And
the other shows, Dennis (John from channel 7 news) and Callaghan (Jerry
from SI) are just as bad, with fewer guests and The A Team (Eddie
Andelman and Dale Arnold) are less offensive but just as much of a joke.
The night time host, Ted Sarandis, is much more intelligent. He even
usually limits the discussion to, well sports, which is nice.
