How much is an NBA player worth? About $300K per Tendex point
Hi:
A few years back, I did an analysis of NBA players comparing
performance to salary, and came to the conclusion that each Tendex
point was worth $250K.
Just for grins, I did the analysis with last year's numbers, and came
to the conclusion that each Tendex point is now worth $300K.
Here's the data for our current/past/future players:

Note that these are last year's salaries, *not* pro-rated for the
shortened season. Also, note that some salaries have changed, such as
Cheaney's, and Antoine's.
The main guys we have who are over-paid are Kenny, Minor (gone), Eric
Williams, and Antoine. However, I think Kenny, Eric and Antoine have
a good shot at earning their salaries next year.
Given Cheaney's potential upside, I think he's well worth the $2M he's
going to get, which is a big step down from his 98-99 salary.
