Derek Anderson to Clippers

"LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Clippers acquired guard Derek Anderson and
forward Johnny
                          Newman from the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday in
exchange for forward Lamond Murray. 

The Cavaliers had been unable to work out a long-term contract
                          extension with Anderson, setting the stage for a
trade. 

                             Anderson, 25, was entering the final year of his
contract, and the 6-foot-6 guard was reportedly
                          seeking a seven-year, $60 million extension from the
Cavs. An explosive leaper and finisher, he
                          averaged 10.8 points for the Cavs last season but
has missed 28 games the past two seasons with
                          knee injuries."
