Here's a tidbit of the Griffin signing:

Celtics sign CBA MVP Adrian Griffin

BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Celtics today signed a league most valuable
player, inking guard-forward Adrian Griffin. Terms of the deal were not
disclosed.

Griffin, 25, was the Continental Basketball Association Most Valuable Player
last season for the Connecticut Pride. The 6-5, 220-pounder led the Pride
to the CBA title and also was the MVP of the Finals.

During the regular season for Connecticut, Griffin averaged 18.9 points,
7.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 47 games. He netted 20 points per game in
the Finals, which lasted five games.

"Adrian has done it the old-fashioned way," Celtics coach and president
Rick Pitino said. "He was MVP of the CBA and earned it. He will be a very
exciting player for Boston fans because he's intelligent, fundamentally
sound and possesses a winning attitude."

Griffin also was the United States Basketball League Player of the Year
last season, averaging 26.5 points in 18 games with Atlantic City. He led
the Seagulls to their third straight title and was the championship game
MVP for the second time in a row.

A native of Wichita, Kansas, Griffin played collegiately at Seton Hall. He
was seventh in the Big East Conference in scoring and rebounding in his
senior season of 1995-96.
