Re: Homework: Lesson #1. Fans after strike.



I think your ability to see games is alterted if "Joe Fan" doesn't come back
to the game.  The games are only on becuase they give NBC advertising revenue
and a chance to plug their shows to the millions who watch.  Now in a local
market this is no different, just a smaller audience.   So if the "borderline"
fans don't come back, some advertisers back out, and eventually, worst case,
the NBA is no longer on TV.  

That situation will never happen, their is always someone willing to sponser
major sports, just look at the fact that the MLS is still on TV.  I can't say
that I wouldn't be happy if there was a little less hype for the Kobe Bryants
of the NBA. Since I don't live in anyones local market, and don't have a
DSS, and can't get one either, I need NBC.  So I need "Joe Fan" to come back.
You may be lucky in so much as you dont't need "Joe Fan", but I do.  Sucks for
me.
